Our Experience in PNG
Since commencing operations in PNG, High Arctic has drilled, worked over or abandoned in excess of 100 deep oil and gas wells across a wide range of terrains and conditions. Successful project delivery has been achieved while maintaining world class QHSE outcomes with Total Recordable Incident Free operations dating back over 9 years and 4 million work hours.
2007
February 2007 – Rig101 secures first contract in PNG
August 2007 – Additional Heli-portable Rig103 is developed & mobilised to PNG
2008
June 2008 – Hydraulic workover Rig102 begins operations
December 2008 – Heli-portable Rig104 mobilised to PNG
2009
January 2009 – Create and register PNG Industry Manpower Solutions Limited (PNG Company No. 1-66535) – PIMS
July 2009 – PIMS provides first personnel to customers in PNG

April 2010 – Rig103 secures contract with Eaglewood Energy
December 2010 – Contract extension for Rig104

April 2020 – COVID-19 drilling cessation; 65 employees agree to remain working in PNG through COVID travel bans

December 2021 – Mobilise Rig115 to work with ExxonMobil
2022
April 2022 – Successful completion of Rig115 abandonment work
May 2022 – Deploy crews for PNG-LNG well abandonment
August 2022 – Rig103 contract with Santos, prepare Rig103 to return to work; 6 Years recordable incident free
September 2022 – 3 Million recordable incident-free work hours
2023
May 2023 – PIMS delivers first commercial training
